New Delhi: Five Indian soldiers have been killed in an ambush by Pakistan soldiers in the Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir. Sources say the Pakistani troops entered Indian territory and attacked the Indian post. The attack has led to ruckus in both houses of Parliament.
Narendra Modi, BJP leader and Gujarat Chief Minister: Dastardly ambush by Pakistan last night in the Chakan da Bagh area of Poonch leading to death of 5 Indian Soldiers is unacceptable. My heartfelt condolences to the families of the brave Soldiers who laid down their lives in Poonch. From China's intrusions to Pakistan's ambushes- UPA Government has been absolutely lax in securing Indian borders. When will Centre wake up?
Arun Jaitley, BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha: There are serious foreign policy issues. So whoever gives the answers will be required to answer those. Therefore, the members saying that the PM giving a statement, will be more appropriate.
Rajeev Shukla, Congress leader and Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs: I think it is very unfortunate incident. We will act according to the provision. We will take necessary actions
Murli Manohar Joshi, BJP leader: We demand that government should clarify in Parliament the steps it is taking to stop attacks on Indian soldiers.
Shahnawaz Hussain, BJP leader: Pakistan is violating every day but we are flying doves. Pakistan has to be answered in a language they understand. We are a large country and we have shown large heartedness, but sometimes tough action needs to be taken.
Gurudas Dasgupta, Left leader: Condemn the incident but talks should go on.
RPN Singh, Congress leader and Minister State for Home: If Pakistan wants better relations with India then this is not the way. Defenece Minister and External Affairs minister would make a statement on this issue.
